At present, one of important future technology challenges is to increase the building’s energy efficiency and sound insulation without burdening the building itself. The main focus should be directed to the development of new building materials, which must have good physical and mechanical properties (minimal heat and audio bandwidth) and been produced at the lowest cost of raw materials and energy. Extention of the aerogel particles technology for industrial applications and development of materials with substantially enhanced insulating properties could be a reasonable solution.
The aim of the project is the expantion of the existing sol-gel technology industrial research laboratory in order to develop the aerogel technology based on the sol-gel method. The project aims to create the technical and technological conditions for production of aerogels used in the development of a new generation of insulating materials. The new generation of aerogels and various modifications of composite materials will be used for sound insulation and energy-efficient buildings.
