Recently, the 2nd Stakeholder Workshop of the SUNRISE Project united key industry players to discuss project progress and share insights on the new technologies developed. The Workshop took place at the Lurederra Technology Center in Los Arcos, Spain.
In the H2020 SUNRISE project, multi-sensor sorting tools are being created with a circular economy approach to recycle polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer material into high-quality laminated glass for construction products and demolition waste. This material is commonly found in vehicle windshields.
MET is working on application of recycled polyvinyl butyral (PVB) for PV panels. This material will be used for encapsulation instead of ethylene vinyl acetate, which is hardly recyclable. This alows reducing CO2 footprint and makes PV panels more circular.
