In order to maintain and strengthen the acquired competitiveness, UAB Modernios E-Technologijos together with its partner UAB Arionex LT will aim to create a smart energy storage and management device using innovative sodium ion battery technology (hereinafter – NJB storage device) , English Intelligent Na-ion based Energy Storage System) for individual home owners who seek to optimize electricity costs.
Exponential growth in demand for energy storage systems (batteries) is predicted and new technologies (in addition to limited resource lithium-ion technology) will be required to meet this demand.
The project envisages the following main R&D activities: Characterization of the properties of sodium ion batteries (NJB) cells and preparation of energy storage device specifications, preparation of NJB storage device control system, development and testing of NJB storage device layout, creation and demonstration of NJB storage device prototype in real conditions, test product batch production.
The project will contribute to the development of a new product with high added value, conditions will be created for researchers to participate in the company’s research and experimental development activities, intellectual property and early trial production of the developed new product will be encouraged.
The project’s funding source is co-financed by the European Union.
The value of the project is EUR 795,178.90, of which the financing is EUR 572,078.58.
Project implementation from 2024. in June until 2026 in June
Implementing institution: Innovation Agency of Lithuania.
